If this is true, then it appears Jeff has abandoned Admuncher as the primary updater of it? I was worried they wouldn't update it anymore, or as much. One of the best aspects of Admuncher from what I have read is the constant updates. If that is gone then it will quickly fall behind. Can we get some confirmation they aren't updating AM's database anymore, or have a dramatically scaled back update schedule? If you haven't seen a definition update in 5 days that's pretty concerning to me.

I'm dropping a USG200 on my home network as UTM, it has built in adblocking. If that tests out to work as advertised I won't be too concerned with adblocking on individual devices for the home anymore. Ultimately I think in the future most home devices will have some capability to block ads - as a security precaution - similar to how AV scanners are now making their way into home appliances. Given Admuncher is 'quicker' than anything else I have tested, but only slightly quicker than uBlock, I'd probably just move to uBlock until the Adguard re-write comes out at the end of the year.

From what I can surmise, it is because they are changing to new hosting, presumably a round robin type CDN, to handle the new load.

I am thinking of using AM in conjunction with the AdBlock Chrome extension. AdBlock has a 'Show ads everywhere except for these domains...' option to which I could add Facebook, YouTube, and any other HTTPS site I wished.

Edit: When I mention AdBlock, I am talking about this extension.

Interesting idea. I might have to try this.

I just did a manual update check, and lists are updated...sth like 280 KB downloaded..
Is there a way to check what were the updates?

Admuncher is a page breaking monstrosity at work, but seems to function well enough at home.

I think I will switch to uBlock by default since the speed difference between the two is fairly meaningless (sub 1 second over 6 pages).

Seeing issues here at home - only Admuncher installed. I see a banner behind.

    Chrome browser.

Well looks like the answer to this poll will be exactly what most suspected.

Ad Muncher is coming back...but unfortunately it'll be the same day Jesus returns....and the AM developers won't be walking alongside, for obvious reasons, if you know what I mean...it may be a little while...but hey, hang in there..

Almost at the eve of Christmas day two years ago someone created a thread at Ad Muncher official forum asking if version 5 will be released as a X-mas gift. The originator unknowingly posted the never ending question that will be actual every X-mas for many more years.

i already kissed my 2 licenses good-bye some time ago. won't this topic never die? it's a waste of time to still talk about a product that is in a coma for years.
just wasted some of the time i spoke about...

I believe AdMuncher is dead, just like the AdMuncher Forum. I have one AM License that expires next month.
Maybe that should be the next poll for Ad Muncher. :argh: :argh:

Murray complained on his blog that he's short of money, he had to sell almost everything and hence he released Ad Muncher free. Doesn't give you this sense? Don't try to find any sense because all about Ad Muncher is nonsense. Nowadays Ad Muncher is a memorial of product that reigned in the field of ad blockers in the past century. Now (unfortunately) it's for a laugh. Happily we have another alternatives which are worth of our attention.

Yeah, but it's not funny to the people that paid for this software. I feel sorry for the lifetime license holders.

No, it's not, especially any that bought the lifetime license recently. Unfortunately that is the risk you take with any lifetime license or subscription. Eventually there are no more updates. I'm hesitant to do lifetime with anything, especially if it is expensive to do so. I've been burned on them a few times myself. Unfortunately, this is a dead product and I would be shocked if there is any reason to get hopes up for a new version.

A birdy told me Admuncher v5 is dead in the water. Murray has moved on.

I still use Admuncher as a supplement to uBlock (default) because I find the heuristic technologies in Admuncher to be very beneficial. Otherwise, looks like v5 is history. Also Murray's last update to 'anything' not related to his new business ventures is over half a year back.
