Why streaming Netflix, Disney Plus, and HBO Max keeps getting more expensive

We may have differing opinions about the definition of 'boring'. I recently watched a DVD called The Farewell.

It's about Bertolt Brecht's last few days and his complicated relationship with his family and entourage. I found it was the best thing I've seen for weeks. I didn't expect to be able to stream it. Thanks for the link. Raudive published a book once that included a recording of (allegedly) genuine EVP.

    - "Harry & Meghan" were indeed 2 persons I had in mind when I wrote my previous post. But I assume that Harry & Meghan were also chosen by Netflix because of being 2 well known persons. Nonetheless I think Netflix simply overpaid for that nonsense. I am NOT going to watch that documentary !!!!

No correct, it's a matter of taste. Let me know what you think about White Noise (2022), I have just read a couple of reviews and it feels like they describe how I feel about all of those long and boring Netflix produced movies LOL.

Thanks. I've read similar reviews, but it's hard to say until I actually watch it. Generally I'm a fan of Delilo and postmodern literature in general. It could be a bad adaptation of what's actually an interesting and quirky novel. Transferring a novel to a screenplay can be fraught with difficulties however.

Yes, at the end of the day it's a matter of taste. I've seen a lot of people bashing Scream (2022), so I expected the worst since most new movies do indeed suck. But I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't that bad at all, it was very fast paced and kept me entertaint for almost 2 hours. So you can't blindly trust on reviews on IMDB. There also many fake ones, probably made by the movie producers, to keep a high rating, quite sad.

Yeah, a lot of that goes on. Opinion is subjective though. I could watch Jean-Luc Godard films endlessly without getting bored. I often do.

BTW, I have read that Netflix paid all of the actors in Stranger Things a total of $45 million per episode for season 5. How sick is this? And apparantly Knives Out 2 (Glass Onion) is a huge success for Netflix, but I'm currently watching Knives Out 1 and after 30 minutes I'm already bored out of my mind. I guess most of those reviews are fake.

I personally think changing the name from HBO Max into simply Max would be a major mistake, what a bunch of idiots. I think HBO is a well known name, and if they want to attract more customers they should simply offer better content and stop with this stupid VPN blocking stuff in Europe.

Like I said, it's a horrible decision, the name Max simply does not pop, it sounds dull as hell. And it's strange because from what I understood, Discovery+ will continue to exist as a standalone service, so there is no reason change the well known HBO Max name. And like I said, if you want to attract more users in Europe, give us better content!

And this sounds like a dumb as hell explanation, I mean there is already a HBO Kids channel. I predict that they will once again bring back the HBO name once Max will continue to lose subscribers, not only because many people don't want the Discovery+ content, but also because the name Max isn't memorable.

Great news for people living in Netherlands and Belgium. HBO has decided to keep using the HBO Max name over here, because there is already a public broadcasting corporation in Holland named MAX. :D
