Why is watadminsvc.exe (Windows Validation) trying to connect to Symantec?

I noticed this morning that my firewall was blocking an outbound connection. When I checked for details I saw that watadminsvc.exe was being blocked from trying to connect to Symantec. After looking up some info it appears watadminsvc.exe is a Windows validation/activation program so perhaps it was validating my Windows license. But why is this trying to connect to Symantec?

You are right watadminsvc.exe is the validation process of windows (Windows Activation Technology) related to KB971033, the task run automatically each 3 months.

I think this task run automatically and symantec firewall check the validity of the process, but i wonder why a Microsoft process is not whitelisted (maybe for prevent similar files being malwareo_O).

I don't have Symantec installed on my computer. I have Nod32 av, OA firewall and MBAM Pro real time.
