Do you like new and crash prone or old and stable?

I generally go for the latest release version (no betas/alpha/nightly) of software. As far as Linux distros are concerned, I greatly like Arch Linux because of its bleeding edge. Its neat having access to the latest software without needing to mess with repositories and such or bother with compiling.

There is one exception though: I am running Firefox ESR (v24). My Portable Firefox would periodically lose its settings and frequently crash. No problems with v24 though. I will try interim releases in hopes that they have improved.
