Whitelisting removable media in XP?

Hello,

I am looking for a solution where I allow only certain USB, External HDDs & SD Cards to be inserted into my office pcs to protect from data theft. Anything other than those would require admin credentials. Something like this

Unfortunately the above program does not work in my case

Any ideas ?

 

ESET Nod32 has this option built in: http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2513. I've never tried it, so can't tell you how good it is.

Hi thanks for the reply. But for that I'll have to change my AV as well which I don't wanna do. Also that particular product is for business support whereas mine is a small home office of 4 computers...

 

Yes, my link was pointing to business version of ESET but this functionality is included in home version of software also.

But as I said changing the AV is not what I want to do. Was just wondering if there might be a program just for that purpose. I tried to google but no success

Sorry for late reply. No that didn't help. Anyways XP is an old OS so there are bound to be disadvantages compared to 7/8. Thanks for the help
