    Using now: XP-32bit

Using later with new computer: Windows 7-32bit

Quite frankly,I've got no desire to run a 64-bit system.

Oh please, it's been in beta shortly after Windows 7 came out. Microsoft is pushing most of their software 64bit, and it turn other companies are following. *cough* sandboxie *cough* 7zip *cough*

Why would anyone cripple the popularity potential of their software by making only 64bit versions? It's the exact same as making software for different platforms mac/windows/linux. You want to maximize audience by doing 32 and 64bit. It would make no logical sense - unless you're on a mission to kill 32bit.

I know it's meaning, thanks. But you broadcasted it as fact. "When windows 8 comes in exclusive 64bit flavours". You have 0 evidence of this you're just constructing it as fact, where as you could have said, "I think Windows 8 will come 8 as exclusive 64 bit flavours".

Like stated, *all* the top end manufacters synchronize their releases. Considering atheros drivers are mainly wireless, I'd hardly call this top end. Desktops are far more popular and Realtek always synchronize their sound card/NIC driver releases, also as mentioned, so do ATI & NVidia, so do Intel.

Let's review what you really said:

There is no "huge" increase of RAM. That's just a completely wrong statement.

You mean, security companies with valid digital signatures? Or are you talking about information from years ago?

Please link me to information about this current in-the-wild malware.

All I can find is outdated info or invalid info, such as:

I see no evidence that there is any currently live way of bypassing PG.

Yes thanks you for post. Nice to see sandboxie go 64-bit ok!

Yes very nice ok. just like user limited and SRP on Windows XP is very power. Link me to info of in wild malware bypass this. You wont find as never been bypass ok? So fun read many on Wilder change setup many time when all need is this.

Same as user limited and SRP on 32-bit XP. I agree you too on 64-bit. Very power. I think user limited and SRP/Applocker on 64-bit will be all one need. Pity you no use SRP/applocker.

Currently on my second week of trying out win7 pro x64 on my ~3 year old desktop with 3gig ram and e7300 processor. I see some improvements from when I was still using XP pro 32bit when it comes to application launching and oddly, a game I frequently run doesn't freeze anymore under heavy graphics situations using this entry level HD3650 card from powercolor compared to when I was running it under XP.

Overall, I'm liking it so far but still weighing between getting windows 7 pro or ultimate. Is applocker worth the additional price? o_O

    Ditto here.

XP runs all the apps I need for my work with no problems. They don't need more than 3 GB of RAM (in fact, my RAM usage is rarely above 1 GB), so a 32-bit OS is adequate.

My new laptop came with Win7 32. I use it with XP Pro for serious work but kept a copy of Win7 on another HDD for playing with.

Perhaps one day I'll think that I can't be without an OS that changes the desktop wallpaper every 30 minutes, but that day hasn't arrived yet.

Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, even though I have only 3GB RAM, I used it on desktop before, it is more stable and secure. I look forward to use more 64-bit aplications.

    Since last November, I've used
    W7 Home Premium 32-bit with 4GB RAM
    on an AMD processor.
    So far, so good...
