IE8 but it's not my primary browser for it's lack of certain features important to my browsing usage pattern.

I think IE8 is a very secure browser, an excellent improvement by MS. My wife and son use it on their machines, I still prefer Chrome for its speed.

I used FF on XP & W7 all the time but it has become too resource hungry.I am now trying IE9 (on W7) and TE8 on XP and both seem to be much quicker.

IE8 came installed on our W7 laptop.
The wife uses it a lot and I use it myself on occasion.
When IE9 goes final I'll install that.

I use SRWare Iron a lot also.

Totally true, IE 9 is very very good but i still prefer Chrome constant and fast development :D
Anyways, i do use IE 9 to browse bank accounts, mail etc.

All other 99% of the time is on Chrome :D

I wish I could add IE9 to the poll.

Edit in: As it has been explained to me, once a poll is established and has had a number of votes, it can't be edited. And for good reason... adding or changing an option invalidates the poll because the responders did not have the opportunity to choose the new option. The poll then becomes corrupt. Makes sense. I'll start a new poll in the new year. :)

I'd say wait for IE9 gold, but I guess that technically will be during the new year :)

How convincing is that advice when you said two days ago...
"Once you use IE9 you WILL think IE8 sucks"?? ;) :D
I'm getting anxious, but my recent policy has been to not run beta software.
Makes me really excited when I finally install the final public release.
Is that what you refer to when you say IE9 "gold"?

    Should be March.

I'd say once you use Chrome , you WILL think IE9 sucks.

I have always liked IE most but ever since I started using Chrome , things are way better . I have many sites that seemed to be really slow in the past and I have always though this was because of the site itself or because of the ISP . These sites all of them open much faster now with Chrome and look way better than with IE. I even made comparison now with IE9 beta and Chrome8 and I still think IE is so slow (what about Firefox...). Microsoft really should do something to improve IE speed and quality. IE9 is faster than IE8 but still slow compared to how it feels with Chrome. Chrome opens faster , loads pages faster and pictures , videos and animation looks better- just like web sites have been made to work with Chrome . One of the particular private web portals I use is officially only compatible with Firefox and IE . However IE opens it very slow and sluggish , with Chrome it opens lightening fast.

That's one heck of a Chrome endorsement, my friend.
Almost makes me want to try it.
Any security drawbacks that you know of?
(Oops, getting off topic there, aren't I?)

    Fixed for you mate :D

    I used to love IE 8 a few years back ( Around 2007-2008 )

Until one day in Sept 2008 (Yeah it was the FIRST version of Chrome).
I tried Chrome just for fun and guess what.
Been using it since then and haven't found any browser that feels faster, clean and sleek. And you gotta love it's development speed :D :thumb:

Give it a try and you will know this is NOT HYPE :D
Okay too much off topic xD

I meant wait with creating a new poll, by all means, try IE9! But I'd wait for the RC release, many bugfixes.

I use Chrome 9 dev on a daily basis, thank you very much.

I could go into many reasons why IE9 is my main browser and why it is superior (full GPU acceleration being my biggest love), but there are many threads where you can discuss which is better until your eyes bleed.
