i liked the 2.5 because it was very light

 

2.7 is as light as 2.5 . However 2.7 has a rootkit detection capabilities.

There are core differences between v2 and v3 (not between 2.5 and 2.7)

 

nope 2.5 to me needs 16mb ,2.7 27mb of ram

 

The difference is not big 27-16 = just 11 Mb . In my machines 2.7 takes no more than 22 Mb (anyway...) Lightness is not only the RAM usage

 

I experienced 99% cpu usage with v3 so my favorite is v2.7 ! For sure, it is less cute than v3 and little harder to set but it works very well

 

3.0 is my fav, why? much cleaner interface, better cleaning

I know for advanced heuristic but for the two other ones..... Hey.... it works very well when both are enable in v2.7 (in AMON, options, ThreatSense options) so tell me why i should upgrade to v3 and decrease my protection

Version 2.7, but only because of the v3 proxy, which is a real pain for advanced firewall rules.
For example: I cannot block a single IP for Firefox and allow it for Opera.
Only for ekrn.exe this is possible.
Version v3 would be a great AV without its proxy, but as it is now it's faulty for me.
Please redesign v3 as an standalone AV which works problem-free with other firewalls like v2.7. Thx

You still can use ESET NOD32 Antivirus 3.0, this product doesn't have any Firewall or Antispam protection.

Yes, I know. The problem is that NOD32 v3 uses the same proxy as ESS does.
There is a long thread about this issue:

This proxy is messing up every Firewall, you can only deny an IP the ekrn.exe wants to connect to, no way for instance to allow an IP for Firefox and deny it for Opera.

I'm still using v2.7 and wait for a neat solution by ESET.

i did use nod on w98se and there are 3 component , 3 programs in memory 1for amon ,1 for 2mail and a scheduler
