If you have choice to install only one of these two components i.e. WEB AV and firewall in KIS apart from other components then which one will you choose?
    web av or firewall?
I know its kind of wierd but im eager to know others opinion on which they like most? and please dont tell both, tell which you prefer most.

Web AV and firewall are completely different. Most malware from the web is already covered by file scanner, so I would definitely go for firewall.

well i would mostly go or firewall as well.
but since im behind a nat router the webav could be a better choice.
i think its better that the malware never hits your HD

    hello sach1000rt,
yes you do need a firewall since most modems dont come with firewalls.
    only routers come with firewalls.
so make sure you keep the firewall in kaspersky on.
ive put the file antivirus to scan all files in the genaral tab.
and its also in smart mode.
i dont notice any slowdowns with smart mode.

This is like a choice -> may a live without my hearth or without my brain :p

Both are essential but the firewall is really a must ...

I don't think this is an honest choice. They are totally different and both very important.
But if I have to choose I would say I would choose the firewall. The other components will back the loss of web av in most cases

I am curious. Since both modules are there, why is a choice necessary. Just curious what the point of all this is?

I think the real question you are asking here is what is the difference between a firewall and the WebAV module.

Very simply the firewall blocks unwanted traffic from reaching your computer, so if an infected computer is search for a new target to infect and it tries your computer the firewall will block it. (ESSENTIAL)

The webav module is doing a scan of anything that is downloaded from a website as it is downloaded. This can also include streaming material such as audio or video stuff you may play from the website. (USEFUL, but not as essential)

The easiest way to make the decision, is Firewall is a must. Webav, turn it on, and leave it on, unless there is a problem, or noticeable time lag in downloading.

    Pete
