I am confused about activex that is asked to be installed on websites that I use for online scanning. For example, when I use Panda, NOD32 etc website to scan my laptop for virus etc, it always asks to install activex.

Where are these activex installed to? Somewhere on my HDD? If so, where?

Is there an activex scanner that searches my HDD for all installed activex from all different websites and gives me option to delete and remove them for security reasons?

    Thanks.
