I'm from China, haha ,it's nice to meet so many friends here!

 

I am currently living in new York City although originally from London, England. My parents however were from a small place on the Amalfi Coast which, though I have travelled a great deal, i still believe is the most beautiful Coast in the world.If you have not yet seen it, make a point of going but NOT in the summer--it becomes terribly overcrowded.

My name is Albert Taylor. I have been in the computer since about 1980 when I got out of high school. Ahhh, the good old days... Microsoft was just a tiny blip on the redar and floppy disks were 8 inches and the internet was sill YEARS away. Please write back if you have similar feelings.

I'm a cryptographer, originally from Gastonia, North Carolina, having grown up in and around the Charlotte metropolitan area, where I still reside. At the moment, I'm at my other home, in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, Brazil. I've got both Americas covered! Tchau!

I'm in a village called Bacup in East Lancashire Pennine hills, England.
Been a programmer since 1980 when my ZX80 and 81 had as much memory as some mainframes in use. First commercial 'program' i wrote using a card punch, hehe.
When my company bought a DEC VAX with 10mb of RAM and a 500mb hdd, we thought it was awesome, cost about £400,000. Mind you it did compile large programs in about half a second.
Still love that machine.

What I can't figure is that after nearly 30 years since VAX/VMS operating systems, we still have to put up with x86 processors and crappy Windows, which is not much more than a nicer looking CPM/MPM machine
