I just used what seems to be a stupid piece of "optimisation" software. It filled my Recycle Bin with files which it decided should be deleted (with no warning) and this got rid of what was stored in there which I may have wanted to use again eg. to reinstall some application.

I have mounted an image of my C: drive which I took previous to this fiasco with a view to restoring what was in my Recycle Bin at the time. I cannot find the Recycle Bin folder in the mounted image. Can anyone tell me where to find it please?

    Thanks.

RECYCLER didn't show up when exploring the mounted image. Using TI and the restore files and folders option RECYCLER showed up. I chose to restore the full RECYCLER and although it appeared to be restoring files (for about 4 minutes) nothing has appeared in the Recycle Bin. God knows where they've gone then! :(

I didn’t mount the image, I just “explored” it. I could not only see RECYCLER, but I could also see the individual files in it.

Yes I could see the individual files when doing the restore but they had unregognisable names such as Dc251. I have just done a search of my current C: drive for Dc251 and it hasn't found anything.

By the way I can't get RECYCLERS to show up using Explore.

That's normally a hidden folder. I haven't checked, but you may need to have viewing of hidden and system files & folders enabled to see it when using the Explore feature.

I just tried playing with that setting. With "Hide" selected I can't see the C:\RECYCLER folder on the HD, but it is still visible within the .tib file.
