When is an update coming for Acronis True Image 10.0.4942 ??

It's been over 3 months since the Acronis True Image 10.0 Home 4942 relase. There have been quite a few issues reported with cloning of Vista.

Any word when Acronis will release an update?

Acronis folks keep saying that this (& other) issues will be fixed with the next release:

Are you kidding me!? I've been on this list from day 1 and never have I received any email regarding new builds being posted. I was told that a "new build" isn't a critical update.

 

Another 6 weeks go by and nothing! The last update here was March 12, and it's now 4 months since then.

C'mon Acronis folks -- many of us are having problems with the 4942 build (& Vista). I don't remember such a long period of time in between releases. Yes, I do want a bug-free update, but I am just getting very frustrated here.

 

One possible reason why there is a delay in the release of the next build is that the Vista issues are not that easy to resolve.

My personal view is that it is going to require some considerable engineering skill to create a version of ATI that will work 100% correctly with Vista.

An interesting development in the past couple of weeks is that Dell, HP and Toshiba have all reverted back to providing machines with XP preinstalled. In fact Dell and HP are making quite a big noise about pushing customers back to XP as ".... the environment that they know and trust and that works with all their software...."

It is not difficult to appreciate therefore that ATI are not alone in trying to come to terms with the very different rules that have been deployed in Vista.

What's going on? Your reply came in JUNEy and that was the last we heard from Acronis.

 

As a new Acronis customer I am not sure what to expect with regard to updates to 10 once 11 comes out. This concerns me as a Vista user in that there are a number of issues outstanding that could conceivably get resolved in 11 and never get into 10 if 4942 is the last build for 10.

I probably should have waited and done more research before jumping on to 10 but Vista backup stopped working to my FreeNAS box and I needed to do something fast.

 

Have they announced version 11 yet?

My Vista build is also not happy with the 10.4942 or any previous versions.

There should still be at least one more build of TI 10 released (Acronis Support has said this many times in many posts), but it may not be released until after TI 11 is already out (October or later). This is just my guess after the fiasco with the last build of TI 9 when TI 10 came out.
