I want to congratulate Eset with their new product . I am loooving it.

It s still fast plus the new functions just are what V3 was missing. Lovely.

Just want to know when it's planned to come out.

No-one outside of ESET knows, but I can exclusively reveal that EAV/ESS v4 will be released in June/July 2009.

This question will be asked many, many more times. The same people who ask when the new version will be released are the same people who will say the new version will be released too soon. We've been down this road before.

I beta tested v3 with no issue that I can recall. As thankful said this road before. After the beta was released I sat back and watched the bugs being reported more so then ever with beta and natrually so higher volume of user that did not beta test and natrually more bugs will arise.IMO eset should take there time with this version do not rush it let the kinks and bugs be worked out before it hits the retail market. The end results probably would be happier users of a quality product.just may turn on to be the best version to date I hope.

LOL, when there was 3, you wanted 4 beta and when you can test 4 beta, you want final version immediately. :D

    Hello,

From the ESET Smart Security v4.0 public beta FAQ at http://beta.eset.com/:

Q5: How long will the beta test program run for?
A5: The beta test cycle for ESET Smart Security will run until the program reaches the necessary levels of quality, performance and reliability.

No date has been announced for the release of ESET Smart Security v4.0.

    Regards,

    Aryeh Goretsky

While I fully respect ESETs freedom to launch the final v4 anytime, I urge them to do that as soonest. I am a proud Czech user of ESS and I dare to say, I feel a national pride for state of the art product that ESS undoubtedly is. In my company we were using Symantecs Norton Internet Security until last year where we were fed up with performance problems. On this account we ditched NIS and switched to ESS v3 and we are very satisfied users now. However having trialed NIS2009 recently, I have to very reluctantly say that ESET loses ground against Symantec. Our subscription of ESS v3 elapses in March 2009 and I really doubt we will go back to NIS if ESS v4 wont be available till then. As we do not want that to happen, please do your best to release v4 as quickly as possible.

Well , there are quite a lot of small and not no small improvements in ESSv4 comparated to v3 but what is so wrong in ESS v3 and what is so much better in Norton 2009 so that you claim you may ditch ESS v3 (but not v4) because of Norton ?

OK, foremost I never said ESS v3 is wrong ;) but comparing with NIS2009 it lacks something...
If a company wants to stay on IT security market, it's absolutely necessary, I would plainly say, almost mandatory for them to launch upgraded version of a product every year like for instance Symantec does with their NIS. It's something like affirmation for users that we are still here and are doing our best and you can count with us. As regards what is better in NIS2009 against ESSv3 I don't want to fall into detail comparision but only from principle that NIS2009 is new product, is better than the last NIS2008. The same counts for ESS, v4 would be better than v3, wouldn't be?

a new version doesn't always mean a better version, many still use v2 and prefer it, different people have different needs and expections, im not using the latest graphics drivers because it doesnt work as well as the previous one (for me) but many do.
i now use smart and am very happy with it, i did however feel v2 was more 'unique' and i truly hope v4 moves more towards standing out as a unique product and not just another suite.
    keep those resources lean please

    Hello,

If there is a specific feature or performance issue your employer is experiencing with ESET Smart Security, it would be helpful to know what it is. You might also find this blog entry from ESET's web site discussing Norton Internet Security 2009 of interest.

    Regards,

    Aryeh Goretsky

one thing i like in Norton 2009 is installation 1min to install and 1min to uninstall
Eset have to make v4 installer faster then 1min because when you uninstall v3 or v4 it's take too much time

Installation / uninstallation is a matter of the msi installer as such and the oper. system. The speed of installation / uninstallation depends on the msi installer and the oper. system, it has nothing to with the program itself. Some procedures simply take time.

You are kidding, right? You are comparing installation time to what, protection, and now cleaning. If that is the case, keep Symantec and its quick installation. Lol

Me? I dont care if it takes a day to install, it is what it does afterwards iswhat counts. Norton, Kaspersky, you just got past by a product that detects and cleans better then both. ICSA certification for cleaning is now very near.:thumb:
