I would have to say at least one of my all time favorite hips would be the ones that belong to actress Selma Hayack.

LOL, when this post was started, I was thinkin' the same thing :D. Remember the movie "From Dusk Till Dawn"? *puppy*

As far Host Intrusion, I'm still using OA2 and Sandboxie. I'm using them because they are easy to use and I can understand them.

I tired ProSecurity V1.40 tonight, mostly out of curiosity. Got a BSOD immediately after install. Restarted. Same. Over and over again. Had to go to command prompt safe mode to delete the install directories to get back up normally. Not good. Looks like it may have been updated today, though, so perhaps I tried it at a bad time?

Did you follow the recommendation of leaving Learning Mode on until after a reboot?

I bet you were innerpeace. LOL. I would in all seriousness though, say ThreatFire for now as I finally am able to use it again and it is running smoothly. There's also the HIPS in Online Armor which I like a lot and also trust, plus you get the leaktest proof firewall to boot. No pun intended. (I'll bet you liked that too didn't you innerpeace?)

I never got the chance. The install had just completed. It had not asked for a reboot, and it had not come up with any configuration screens. It simply BSODed. Over and over again.

Next time there's a HIPS poll on here, you just know that's going to be an option now :D

I have licenses for both SSM and ProSecurity, but I prefer the former. I very much like Neoava as well, with it's unique features. DSA has interesting concept with that spartan GUI, EQSecure never worked here. Others I don't have much interest in... ;)

I just don´t understand why people can´t stay on topic, and I´m not talking about the Salma Hayek comment. :p

And I see that this topic had quite a few hits, but not a lot of people are posting their top 3´s. :thumbd:

Yes correct, totally forget about them.

Why post it in this thread? o_O

This is a waste of time w/o a poll to tally the results. Im interested in how many people use the various HIPS too but I won't be counting heads.

    1) DSA
    2) Online Armor
    3) Threatfire

For all the declarations of love and admiration throughout wilderThreads loyalty counts for naught. Not one pledge for PG? Even as a token bronze medal?

And surprisingly there's not much hip-hip hooraying for sandboxes either. Looks like its a case of "you gotta be heard to be seen."

    1) DSA
    2) GSS
    3) Can I include Jetico 1-Process attack table? (I know, moot point, I already did)

    Is there a free version?

I´m sorry but you got the wrong picture, responding to all these alerts is not exactly rocket science.

I don´t know, you tell me, does Jetico have HIPS capabilities?

It was mentioned by one person, see post #25.

Solcroft, if I may ask, which HIPS did you trow out of your top 3?

I´ve done some counting, and here is the top 3, at least, so far:

    1 SSM
    2 Online Armor
    3 Pro Security

While the Poll did not mention paid hips, the below Poll has many of those mentioned thru out this thread.

This poll---> Which is the 'best quality' Free HIPS around today?

The Process Attack Table is indeed a HIPS module. I don't use it (I use only the firewall part)
