There was a barbecue lunch where i work today put on by one of the major couriers here in Toronto to show their appreciation for the business given to them and there were hamburgs and hotdogs aplenty!

The hamburgs were delicious(the hotdogs did look good though). :D ;) :D

o_O It's a toss up, either the ones at Coney Island N.Y. (Nathan's), or the ones at the little hole in the wall shop in Frankfurt Germany (Brand unknown).

    Thanks

I'm not supposed to eat them because of all the fat, but when I do I like Ballpark beef franks. I'm a mustard and relish person.

New hot dogs to cost $170 each
From: AAP From correspondents in Stockholm
    September 15, 2005

THE world's most expensive hot dog will go on sale in Stockholm as part of a United Nations-sponsored event aimed at highlighting the problem of poverty as world leaders gather at the UN summit in New York.

Hot dogs and veggie dogs will be sold in downtown Stockholm for 999 Swedish kronor ($170) a piece, said Klas Waldenstroem, a spokesman for the United Nations Development Programme's Nordic office.
"The goal is to highlight world poverty during the UN summit in New York by using a simple metaphor - the customary Swedish 'korv' (hot dog) - to show people here what it would be like to live life without having enough money for even the most basic things," he said.

More than more than a billion people worldwide live on less than one dollar a day, according to the UNDP.

"We're not just talking about having it tight financially. We're talking about poverty that is paralysing," Mr Waldenstroem said.

For someone who lives on a dollar a day, buying a hot dog at the regular price of 20 kronor ($3.40) would be as impossible as asking your typical, well-to-do Swede to pay one thousand kronor for a "korv", he pointed out.

The event will kick off with Minister for International Development Cooperation Carin Jaemtin selling the first franks.
"We want to show how tilted the distribution of wealth is in the world ... It's extremely important now during the UN summit that world leaders are pushed to live up to their commitment to help eradicate poverty," a spokesman for Mr Jaemtin said.

A number of Swedish celebrities will also come to sell the pricey hot dogs, which will be available at a special stand through Saturday.

Why not just go to the supermarket and buy around 200+ hotdogs and share with all the UN members? isnt that much better than splitting one hotdog among many?

    Wrong again Primster,

The most expensive hot dog is when you combine it w/Baked Bean Man's offerings. Ambulance...$200, stomach pump...$250, 12 days in ICU...$18k, ministered to by Nurse Laverne....priceless!!

Sabrett. Mustard and saurkraut. I order direct since the street vendors in N.Y. are always substituting with low-cost pieces of junk. My son has learned to differentiate. We are in Chicago now so it is expensive to order from N.Y., but it is well-worth it. Viennas are good, but ..... second place.

Up this side of the border, the biggest-sellers are probably Schneider's, Oscar Meyer, and Maple Leaf. But I get whatever's cheapest, usually just house-brand or no-name.

Totally off-topic, but I couldn't resist putting it here ... this guy has picked up a gorgeous gal in a bar and they go to his place. They're just starting to make out when she starts laughing hysterically.

"What's that all about??" is his natural reaction.

"Oh, you were starting to whistle, I bet you probably weren't even aware of it. It was -- ready? --I Wish I Was an Oscar Mayer Weiner."
    :D
