I use Perfect Disk 10 and SMART Placment method. I evaulated Diskeeper 2010 and it's very good but it's too expensive.

I upgraded to Diskeeper 2010 Professional recently. It's very good indeed; also comes with an in-built algorithm that works in the background and prevents a lot of the fragmentation before it occurs (during file write/modification).

MyDefrag - very customizable and very capable (plus being free is a plus).

JKDefrag is now called MyDefrag and isn't open source anymore. It's now a freeware app. I use it (MyDefrag) and its script runs on a daily basis here.

I've tried many others before (and still try, sometimes). The last one was the newest version of PerfectDisk for Win7. Ended up uninstalling it and reinstalling MyDefrag. In fact, it's my opinion that commercial defrag tools talk big and do small.

Yeah, i wonder why they went that way.
Considering they aren't too famous and now with a free version, they won't be getting lots of money
But as always, it's nice for us the consumers :D

    Anyways, i'll stick to O&O V12

I have UltimateDefrag 2008, lately I couldn't resist downloading the free version of Puran which is faster than UD 2008. Performance is the same with both applications, although the feeling of having wasted my money with UD 2008 is more than an impression.

Running a 30-day free trial of Diskeeper 2010 right now. I like the auto defrag and the boot time defrag, but I'm not sure I want to buy it after I try it. I'll probably trial a couple of others that members here have praised. :)

i have o&o 12 and i do not think its as good as either perfectdisk or puran personally. it runs way to much junk in the backorund and adds way to much junk to the system for me to top it off.

I'm trying Puran on another computer right now. If it's good like many here say it is, I'll probably not purchase Diskeeper after the 30 day trial and just run Puran on both machines.

Diskeeper is one of the most expensive options here

I've heard ultimate defrag is very good too, but never tried it.

I tried Puran when they launched the free version (Yes they have a FREE VERSION NOW, it's the same as paid but for "Personal Use") :D
It was good but i still like mine :D
For some reason i felt PerfectDisk didn't do a good job defragging but that's JUST my opinion, so don't get mad at me
