Really no reason not to use the 'latest & greatest' (your v1.38 license should still be valid).

    Hi people !

I have only one image file with Acronis True Image. That file is in Acronis secure zone, which is in boot of my XP.I don't want to make incremental or differential backups with ATI.

I would like to have something fast for express software testing, another program that can be compatible with Acronis Secure Zone.

Or maybe remove Acronis from secure zone and put at boot something else....

What are you think about this program DrvImagerXP 2.2 There are lot of downloads on Softpedia

Question for Sully: I am considering purchasing a Synology NAS...wanted to find out how you liked it...I am considering this for the features included which surpass other NAS solutions.

Regular - weekly backups of my websites (has to be manually at the moment)
SugarSync online backup - on the fly
Drive image - Monthly with acronis.

This is my strategy at the moment and works well for me.

I haven't had any major isues in a very long time now, so my backup policy isn';t the strictest out there, drive images take far too much time, and I have 3 computers and isn't the most efficient way to backup up or save time.

    i use Windows 7 imaging.

    i store 3 images:
    - one when W7 was installed + Windows updates
    - another one with some basic apps installed.
    - and the last one with all my program installed.

Just using Windows 7 built-in backup to do a once a week image and backup, nothing fancy. Also have images of 7 and XP using Clonezilla on a USB drive just in case.

    i forgot,

i also do manual backup once a week or so.

i back my stuff on a secondary internal drive and on 2 portable USB hard drive.

1 of those hard drive i keep at a friend's place in case of disaster.
once or twice a month i replace the USB hard drive at my friend's and bring it back home to get updated.

hardware can be replaced, but data is another matter.

What if he gets hit too

Your chances are probably better leaving it in a safety deposit box or say a service like "MyOtherDrive" where as long as you pay the shipping, you can send them your backup(encrypted of course) on say a usb drive and they will load it in your storage account "free of charge".

what are the chances of 2 housing separated by miles of getting simultaneously burned/robbed etc at the same time.

the odds are probably smaller than wining the lottery. ;)
