what's the safest[no toolbar.etc] and best youtube downloader?

    I've always just used KeepVid at http://keepvid.com

    You put in the URL of the YouTube video and click "Download." You have every available resolution to pick from.

    Like you, I don't mess with toolbars.

    If you use FireFox then

    VideoDownloadHelper addon

    Or if you want something that In my Opinion is faster, but for more of an advanced user!

    Flashgot with DownThemAll addons. which work together and download basically anything you want it to!

    I use opera as my browser and use this addon it adds a download button under the youtube video itself.
