    Not true!
IFW supports mounted images from 8 Jan 2010 with TBIMount. And it is included in all setups of IFW from the version 2.53.

    layman,

It sound like you are discussing version 1 images which were superseded three years ago.

Hmmm. I'd say it has been less than three years since I last re-evaluated the product and, whether or not the image format had changed, there was no mount capability at that time. A mount capability would certainly be a step forward. Hopefully, it is better done than TBIview. In evaluating TU products over the years, it always seemed to me that the add-ons were step-child software -- just given the bare minimum of functionality. Does the mounter support mounting more than one image at a time?

I should mention one other strong point for Macrium Reflect. While I don't generally favor software that is overloaded functionally, Macrium has done a great job of incorporating imaging and file-and-folder backup in the same product. The file-and-folder backup feature is just as well done as their imaging software.

    layman,

The ver 1 TBI was very slow as you described. The ver 2 TBI opens images in 2 to 3 seconds, TBI is unique in that it allows you to browse a non compatible file format. For example, you can browse the files and folders of a Linux image while you are in Windows.

Yes, the mount function allows multiple mounting. I just had 3 images mounted.

I love the modular nature of the TeraByte products and their ability to image/restore in so many ways. My interest is auto imaging and auto restoring as well as restoring images over a network. Auto of course. Wired and wireless networks. With wireless-N, restoring images is feasible over the network but a cabled connection is preferred. I can auto restore my son's computer at 3 am while I'm asleep. At 3 am a psexec file is sent from my computer to his computer. His computer restarts into IFD or IFL, connects to my computer and uses a backup image stored on my computer to do the restore to his computer.
