Given that this is now confirmed, might be a good time to redo this poll.

    Hmm, Good Questions PollMaster ;)

I would like to see Tabbed Browsing, Mouse Gestures, AD Blocking, a Download manager similar to FF/Opera that would have ability to change the actions for file types, I don't know if ActiveX removal is neccessary, but they should definitely have added controls for it (ie. a ~While List / Black List~), and limit its functionality, a Search Bar would also be nice as long as it has the ability to be totally user defined and any other security improvements would be welcome.

Nice on BigBuck. I have got to admit, if IE was to basically die, the world would be a better place... honest.

I'm with Buck - the only thing I want from IE is Windows updates since ya gotta have it for that - and even then I've had one or two windows "updates" that made me hafta restore the OS to regain normal operations... So I even say this reluctantly.

  8. The biggest and most important thing I want to see in Internet Explorer 7 is security. That is security against spyware attacks and other types of malware. There's still a lot of room for improvement of IE.

IE7.0 had better be much better than IE6.0
If IE7.0 is the same like its predecessors, and has many security holes too, it would be best to use other alternative browsers in that case.

What concerns me is how IE is so deeply embedded in the Windows system. FF is so easily DL'd and uninstalled if need be. Not to mention that FF can actually be operated from a USB sick without actually being installed on the machine! I'm just liking FF more and more all the time!

The inabiltiy for some users not to able to get on the Internet. Whether it's IE 6, 7, 8 or 20....many users will still not realize it takes two to tango.

I'd ask for an entry in Add/Remove Programs so people can have the choice to clear it off their system without having to use third party software.

Another thing: I want Microsoft to completely REMOVE ActiveX from IE, in view of most of the spyware getting in via ActiveX in IE. Also, with reference to bigbuck's comments, I also hope Microsoft will not embed IE7 so deeply into Windows.

I like the add remove idea for IE ... you can throw that piece of crap they call a media player in their with it ... I would love to uninstall that spyware magnet.

I don't see why you can't use whatever browser you wan't to do updates - i hate switching from my semi secure browser (Opera) to the biggest security hole in the known world ... especially to do critical updates.
