Forgive me if this has been answered. Right now I'm using the Prevx that just has detection. How long will it be supported, and what will happen when support ends? I didn't see any free Webroot SecureAnywhere product.

What do you mean they are going to use MD5s only?

Yes I believe so. That's the latest I heard about it, if memory serves me well ;)

Prevx uses PX5 (I think is the right name :doubt: ) hashes now, but will later on use MD5's only.
Or did you wonder what MD5 means?

I have an idea whan an MD5 hash is. Never heard of PX5. So that means even a year later Prevx will still work, just not as well?

To be honest i'm not sure.
All I know is that "they" have/had plans to change to MD5 hashes only.

WebrootHelp aka Prevxhelp will give you a better answer i'm sure ;)

We don't only use MD5 hashes - we still use PX5 and many other detection approaches: the MD5 is just the most logical to show in the log as users can check with other sources. Prevx 3.0 will continue to work as it has been. We'll eventually support upgrading to WSA from Prevx 3.0 but this isn't in place yet.
