So what does everybody recommend to install to replace SAS? I mean other than MBAM, because we all have that already. I'm talking about a second anti-malware to complement MBAM like SAS used to do.

That makes sense - it does an excellent job of finding cookies.

But I use CCleaner for that wich get the job done faster, even if CC may miss some stubborn cookie that SAS might could have picked up.

It doesn't really matter, cookies come running towards me each time I visit a website they really like me, but I don't like them, and CCleaner shows them the door after each browsing session. :p

Excellent as in PUP and heuristics to the max? I was hoping for something less annoying than clearing all cookies, whitelisting, or even first-party only, but this isn't it.

With CCleaner you can delete all cookies, whereas SAS only deletes ones it recognises as tracking cookies. I never delete all cookies as they sometimes have a use. However, I guess using the intelligent scanning in CCleaner would not remove any cookies which contained login information.

For the cookies used for logging in I just set them as exceptions and delete the rest. One thing that has worked for me is to delete all cookies then go log into sites I visit regularly. Then open CCleaner again and take a look at the cookies as it's easier to separate which ones are needed at that point and which ones are not.

    Who cares?

As a generalization, the Wilders community tries to use good products -- products that work.

    That is all.

    Thank you.

Yes, I understand that. But personally I don't want to go to the effort of doing that as I don't see cookies as being a serious problem.

There is a thread in the 'other product' section here about how all of the good software is going away.

SAS was garbage when it uninstalled itself from my systems, removed it's keys.. Then 10 emails later to SAS support, they cannot 'find' my lifetime licenses. How convenient, right?

Anyone remember Pest Patrol? Wow, that was an awesome product. Threatfire? It worked, and saved my bacon many times. Both gone. Eudora.. Man was it good.. Gone of course. Netscape was a very nice browser, with amazing potential.. Gone.

Boclean, don't even get me started.. Kevin's support was amazing.

Things just aren't good in the software world right now.
