Sound like you just need to find a copy of the .dll. If you cannot find one, PM me, and I will e-mail one to you.

The only place that I know of is from version 7 of the media player or from another computer. I have version 6.3.1.400 of the file. If you want it, PM (personal message) me with your e-mail address, and I will send it to you.

I downloaded the install program for Media Player 7, and I was able to extract the file with Winzip. You can do the same, or I can send it to you. The version number in the file is 4.90.2490.0. Or better yet, install seven and then update.

Thanks all of you. I had a "duh!" while I was sitting at my home computer and realized that my son's laptop had the file so I copied it to a CD and loaded it onto my computer. Lo & behold WMP works! Thanks again. This is a good place for answers for a novice like myself!
