Have moved over to Windows 8 as I plan to take advantage of the $40 offer when it's available. Although the Metro start screen will take a little getting used to, the underlying improvements make it well worth the switch.

It was this video that made me realise what fundamental changes have been made to Windows 8, and convinced me to leave Windows 7 behind.

Added MBAM again. Can't stay away from it for too long. I'm think my setup is strong and light. What do you think guys?

I use it as well. if you prefer a start button this is what i use http://www.stardock.com/products/start8/ Some might not want it because they are trying to adapt to the new style. Metro still works however so no worries if you add a start button. Just a small detail if you prefer.

Know what you mean, though since I purchased a license three years ago, I've never been without it. Only changes I've made with regards to MBAM is bought more licenses. ;)

By the way, sorry, I've forgotten... do you run MBAM Pro or use it on-demand? And what about the website blocking? Use it?

    Great changes. :D

I use Pro. It's on-demand. Only scheduled update and scans are enabled. Realtime module eats too much ram about 125mb which puts stress on my poor netbook and eats up all it's 1gb ram.

MVPs Hosts, TPL's for IE 9, Spyware Blaster, tweaked Windows Services, Adblock Plus for Moz, EasyList & Easy Privacy for Moz and a few other tricks.

It's better to have too much protection than not enough, it's easy to tweak something to compensate for not being able to view or do.

I did say [...] and a few others... Fanboy can be a bit restrictive on social networking sites, aka Facebook, but I do use it.
I do believe the query of the thread is and what's your security set-up these days

I have no prob using facebook, twitter, etc with fanboy. That list does not contain any blocking for social networks I believe. Yes I'm aware of this thread quite well. I was just suggesting a better list to improve your setup these days.

Adversity does an admirable job blocking social network elements. I play with that from time to time. I did say Fanboy can be a bit restrictive, it depends on your security level with that given social network.

What does Adversity has anything to do with Fanboy's list?
