    Hi all!

New here... first post. Trying to make sure my system is secure.

    1. I have been using GData Total Security for a few years now, no problems (with its firewall). Any comments/thoughts on this product?

    2. I love the idea of Shadow Defender. But, how do you run Windows Update and have it stick? Do you need to (a) turn shadow mode off, (b) reboot so the shadow mode turns off, (c) run windows update manually, (d) reboot again to apply windows patches, (e) turn shadow mode on ?? Two reboots for a windows update? Is there a way to turn shadow mode off without rebooting?

    3. I have seen lots of favorable mentions of Hitman Pro. How do you use it in practice though? Do you have it run weekly? Scheduled nightly? It doesn't appear to have an active mode where it looks out for stuff in realtime does it?

    4. Have been playing around with Private Firewall. Really like it so far. Does anyone know if this offers any better protection than GData's Firewall?

Which of these would you recommend as being more secure?

    a) Shadow Defender + GData Total Security (firewall, scans, web security)

    or

    b) Shadow Defender + Private Firewall + Malware Bytes Active

    Thanks

    I would recommend:

    c) GData Total Security (firewall, scans, web security)

"I would recommend: c) GData Total Security (firewall, scans, web security)"

Then the entire system is relying on GData reliably detecting every single 0 day threat. That doesn't seem to be a good assumption to me.

Isn't having Shadow Defender a good idea to act as a failsafe for those rare bugs that make it through?

I'd rather let others do that :shifty: but I test it myself and nothing could slip through :thumb: But I see it has been improving MBR protection :thumb:

looks cool....... some have their opinion here against it not being developed and maintained anymore ( outdated ) is this true? How does that effect in terms of security?
