you could remove ae and make wsa work as an ae. That would make your setup lighter and faster.

The day my PC was delivered, I stayed up most of the night, eventually going to bed around 4 a.m.
And as soon as I woke up, I was back at it.
I still have lots to do, to make it right.
It's scary how much fun this can be.

Sounds like me a few months ago, fun times. :argh:

I don't like EAM's surf protection. I usually turn it off when I use EAM. They really should change the host file they use.

Why the sarcasm? Did you have a bad experience with bytehero? Or is bytehero already well known to everyone here so you it is actually not a new finding?

After getting sick and tired of trying to decide what traditional AV to use, I've decided to do things a little different. I'm now running Sandboxie (paid version with Chrome forced to run sandboxed) and MBAM PRO for anything that may slip through. Both lifetime licenses I might add ;)

No HitmanPro? Anyways, great going with only sbie and mbam pro. With IFW you got a solid setup. :thumb:

I agree with your decision,Sandboxie alone can keep a system clean with out the need of resident scanners. In the rear chance something should escape sandboxie MBAM is a good addition. However sandboxie can be restricted so tight for excutables and access control making it hard for just a about anything to properly run inside to begin with.

I Have found that AppGuard and ShadowDefender to keep all the nasties off better then any Antivirus resident can do and no lose of performance.I keep Hitman pro for OD scans and System explorer to keep a close eye on processes and autoruns that I can right click and send them to VT or jotti for further analysis right from System explorer UI.

No lose of love for Antivirus but the only ones I would run is ESET or F- Prot or Ikarus even MSE.I am currently running ESET 6.0 beta on family PC Along with AppGuard and that system is doing very well with that combo.

There really is no need for a half dozen layers of security, its overboard and wasted space but thats just my opinion.

just added windows firewall denying outgoing connections...it's getting paranoid here :D

but so far no antivirus for me. I still like the idea of a very light antivirus just scanning incoming files like you can tweak MSE to but it seems there are no real light AV's out there...

Ams963 very nice and very wise setup.tight as heck yet you dont kill your system. Some newbiews can learn from your setup how to layer the right way.IMO you have achieved that.Good job my friend.

I like to see sigs for that very reason a good guide line.

Aw stop it already  .

I just use whatever suites me. My setup does not slow down my browsing or anything else. OA, EAM and MBAM do take a lot of RAM but absolutely do not conflict and no slowdowns. And EAM takes up no ram compared to other av like ikarus, kaspersky, etc. I like this setup and gonna keep it for a long time.

I highly recommend it. Go ahead and give it a try. HitmanPro is free to remove malware for 30 days after activation of the license otherwise free to scan for life. It's simply awesome I tell ya.

absolutely no need for a av as already said by adult and john. You're definitely off the chart with that setup against malware. :thumb:

Edit : add HitmanPro and an imaging software and you're done for good if you know what I mean. :)

AAaaaaCK!! To have the Wilder's Syndrome lol!

I am jumbling around with all these setup ideas, but can't really decide.

I am thinking about these setups

    Setup #1
    Real-Time:
NoVirusThanks EXE Radar Pro (When it comes out for 64-bit)
    Shadow Defender

    On-Demand:
    MBAM, EAM, Hitman Pro

    Setup #2
    Real-Time:
    NoVirusThanks EXE Radar Pro
    Sandboxie

    On-Demand:
    MBAM, EAM, HitmanPro, Shadow Defender

    Setup #3
    Real-Time:
    NoVirusThanks EXE Radar Pro
    Sandboxie
    Comodo Firewall with Defense +

    On-Demand
MBAM, EAM, Hitman Pro, Shadow Defender

    Setup #4

Or just going with the setup I have now, and just adding NoVirusThanks EXE Radar Pro in Real-Time

    Ughhh, Decisions, Decisions, Decisions

Not setup #4? basically with what I have, but adding EXE Radar Pro in real-time.
