Finally got you new shiny computer huh, nice How is that setup running for you?

 

Our setups have much in common, so I've got to say I like it!
I can see why it's your favorite.

 

Man a new box can take FOREVER to get all switched around to the way you like it! I'm all tethered (no wireless anything), so just moving 3 computers around can be a tangle. I purchased that Premium to Ultimate upgrade, so before too long I will go that route and start looking into AppLocker and BitLocker. For now, I am about in the middle of the XP to W7 learning curve. I like the OS just fine, though.

 

I hear ya on that, I know what you mean. In a weird way though...I find it kind of fun to set everything up. I guess you can say, I am in a true sense...A computer geek

 

ISP service includes email scanner and spam-filter. Wireless Router with WPA2, SPI (message range) with Flood/Poisoning/Spoofing protection and Norton DNS (on malware). Changes in Blue

Running as Admin on Windows7 x32 ultimate with OS-build-in security:

Use Windows FW both for inbound and outbound. Added a deny execute on all threat gate folders (browser download, e-mail and media player using Access Control Lists deny execute/traverse folder for Everyone).

Thanks buddy. I have had problem with OA and my VPN but now I found a workaround. Now I'm gonna keep my setup for a while.

Yes, it was surprisingly fast. It took it a little more than half an hour to scan my whole computer. It will probably be a keeper

OK, I admit it, I like it A LOT!

IMO it is the most complete and configurable HIPS available right now. If I could use only one security app it would be MD.

 

How is Cobian Backup my friend?

 

It's great. I use it for quick backup of important files to second HDD. I run it on demand only, with no tasks scheduled.

Believe it or not, they compliment each other really well.

 

Great to hear buddy I see you are using OpenDNS. Are you using the free subscription or the paid plan subscriptions? Also I remember you had keyscrambler. You still using that? Which one do have- pro or premium version?

I am using free OpenDNS for malicious site blocking, and p2p site blocking (That's all I really need).

As for Keyscrambler, I bought the premium edition. I bought that license for my niece, and she is using that on her machine. She is the only person that I know that has gotten keyloggers in the past. That is the reason why I bought the license for her.
