Trying KIS 2012 again...seems a little lighter than in the past. Comparing the "biggies"...KIS, BIS, NIS....all pretty good now!

I've never been a fan of Norton, their history of coming with my OS as bloatware and causing nothing but trouble while being a nuissance to remove and lacking the fine grained controls I need (Like KIS 2012's Application Control where I can limit access to the network, files, and other processes and even create my own rules) especially their lack of an on the fly exclude/ignore option. Things may have changed since I tried Norton 360 (Right around when KIS 2012 came out) but given the bad taste they've left in my mouth I'm probably more likely to go with an old version of StopZilla (ha).

I've always wanted to give Bitdefender a real shot but it always gives me bluescreens :p I haven't tried it in a while maybe when the 2013 AV versions start flying around ill try again.

Back with Comodo IS free and trying novirusthanks exe free again. and the Comodo Dragon browser. For whatever reason, I hop from one to the other and always end up back with Comodo IS. It just seems to work.

Comodo running in proactive security at 11MB. Very light on this system.

I had a bad experience with EXE Radar Free after running in game mode for a while and then came out I was locked out of half my programs and system restore.I had to replace a image.
other wise great features and protection for free.I loved tools or utilities built in with the registry editor.:thumb:Made it quick and easy for me since I am always in regedit to tidy up things.

    Windows 32bit 7/XP (different comps)
    SUA
Hardware DEP on for all progs
    UAC at max
    SRP default deny
Comodo Internet Security Premium/Kaspersky for Workstaions (on different comps, of course)
Comodo Time Machine 2.8/2.9 (on different comps)
Windows Image Backup (on a comp with Win7 and without Comodo Time Machine - Now I find it's more convenient then the Comodo Time Machine)
Sandboxie unpayed - automatic deletion - different sandboxes for different browsers and other progs :)

Also I made my folders Deny all permissions for all other users so my folders are accessible only through my password protected account.

ISP service includes email scanner and spam-filter. Wireless Router with WPA2, SPI (message range) with Flood/Poisoning/Spoofing protection and Norton DNS (on malware). Changed to AppLocker see https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=2053703&postcount=1

Running as Admin on Windows7 x32 ultimate with OS-build-in security:

----------- from network stack to process stack ------------------
Use Windows FW both for inbound and outbound. Added a deny execute on all threat gate folders (browser download, e-mail and media player using Access Control Lists deny execute/traverse folder for Everyone).

--- from Low Rights (Protected mode) to Medium Rights (LUA) ---
Using Chromium (unsigned application) with Chrome sandbox and build in safe browsing. New Chromium developer build now has untrusted sandboxes for renderer processes (even more restricted than LOW :thumb: ). Running PDF and Flash plug-in with Mandatory Low rights. Only extension used is Search Engine Security and Vista Basic/Windows 7 skin.

-------- from Medium (LUA) rights to High (Admin) Rights ---------
AppLocker plus GPO hardening, Still possible to install signed EXE and MSI with "runas admin" through secure-desktop. For browser, e-mail, media player and PDF reader memory overflow protection with EMET and Windows File and Registry virtualisation with RunAsInvoker trick.

    --------------------------- On demand -----------------------------
    - Windows7 Image backup and SyncToy data backup to 2nd internal hard disk, pictures are synchronised to NAS
    - Hitman Pro free quick scan before monthly backup from NAS to 1 TB USB drive (media data) and 2nd harddrive to USB 250 GB drive (documents etc).
    - CCleaner through scheduled task to evoke UAC pop-up

The fix is being tested with the free users first, then will be rolled out to paid users.

Ditched Norton Av like a bad habit. It was giving me some slow downs on firefox. I disabled the firefox add on and still would hang every once and a while. So I uninstalled it. There are way to many choices out there to settle for something causing issues.
Installed PCAV 1.9 beta. Disabled the firewall since I have comodo firewall. Running nice and smooth without issues.
Good job panda. Can't wait for 2.0
