*** New Setup due to total harddisk crash of 1 TB disk, thx for having backups ***

ISP service includes email scanner and spam-filter. Wireless Router with WPA2, SPI (message range) with Flood/Poisoning/Spoofing protection and Comodo Secure DNS (is Ultra-DNS) as primary and Norton DNS (on malware) as secondary name server.

Running as Admin on Windows7 x32 ultimate with OS-build-in security:

----------- from network stack to process stack ------------------
Use Windows FW both for inbound and outbound. Added a deny execute on all threat gate folders (browser download, e-mail and media player using Access Control Lists deny execute/traverse folder for Everyone).

--- from Low Rights (Protected mode) to Medium Rights (LUA) ---
Using Chromium (unsigned application) with Chrome sandbox and build in safe browsing. New Chromium developer build now has untrusted sandboxes for renderer processes (even more restricted than LOW :thumb: ). Running PDF and Flash plug-in with Mandatory Low rights.

-------- from Medium (LUA) rights to High (Admin) Rights ---------
SRP with basic user as default level (all files, admin excluded) which acts as deny execute in user folders plus GPO hardening (f.i. deny elevation unsigned programs, disabling autorun and execution of USB, disabling user startup entries). Still possible to install signed EXE and MSI with "runas admin" through secure-desktop.

    --------------------------- Real Time -----------------------------
Added UAC PowerBroker silent elevation allows (no pop-up) for HitmanPro, ProcessExplorer, Autoruns, Synctoy and CCleaner. For e-mail, media player and PDF reader added EMET 2.1 memory overflow protection and PowerBroker desktop UAC/HASH rule (stripping all rights forcing LUA with Medium Rights).

    --------------------------- On demand -----------------------------
    - Windows7 Image backup and SyncToy data backup to 2nd internal hard disk, pictures are synchronised to NAS
    - Hitman Pro free quick scan before monthly data backup to USB drive (from NAS) as a second backup against data loss

Hey thanks for reminding me of the Beta. Just loaded it up and everything is running fine. AppGuard sounds like a good program, but when I tried it half a year ago there were some conflicts with Sandboxie that I didn't bother to figure out.

That's strange... Restart you computer in learning mode and see if that helps. You can also check option to log all denied actions and see if something gets loged.

I never had any issue with slow booting. Cold boot takes me around 30 seconds.

Actually I only use the beta version of WSA, but I already uninstalled it as identity shield doesn't work with waterfox. I might reinstall Comodo Firewall, haven't decided yet.

I would choose Comodo Firewall over Privatefirewall as Comodo has stronger HIPS especially on Windows 7 x64. But honestly with EAM's BB and Applocker, I don't really need Comodo Defense+ or privatefirewall HIPS.

I think you do need a hips....bb and hips are two different things and would be nicely fit in a layered security approach.....

I know they are different but seeing that Applocker is like anti-exec and I have BB I doubt I need HIPS.
