IMO Emsisoft and MBAM seem to be the two best Antimalware programs on the market and Cant go wrong with either one or both.I use MBAM real time and EAM Emergency kit for on demand.

After having a dickens of a time trying to reinstall ComodoFW-D+ on one drive i finally got it pressed into the other on a dual boot system.

Comodo IMO has some very worthwhile and imaginative products. They almost look like they've crank out a program for every facet of windows. D+ i must say is a chore to settle down though. It can be rough on the nerves but it does cover an indepth wide range of intercommunicating signals in Windows.

So ComodoFW w/D+ is back in one of my drives.

The other is using Privatefirewall w/ EQS in tandem w/ no issues over abundant overlap as you might expect. EQSysecure solidly seals tight XP's. Throw on an AV and SandboxIE and it just about seals the deal.

Crap, it's going to be a whole 'nother learning curve when Windows 8 becomes official. Don't know if i want to be ready for that or not.

I dread this. Might be the first time I might actually stick to the previous Windows as my primary OS.

I'm with EASTER. Loving Comodo and D+ also. Seems to work well with my progs. Only real annoyance is on Canary Chrome updates, but I haven't even had a problem with it either in the past few months.

Considering adding a command-line scanner to my download accelerator via EEK from Emsisoft--their detection rates are killer. May not work out. Like to also throw some hardening on my temp folder/s as it seems to be where a lot of the suspect gear comes in.

I'm trying to protect using more HIPS / Policy / Behavior / Hardening because sigs and heuristics are really poor it seems whenever aggregating test results. Trying to isolate important things like passwords/data and lock down / remove vectors like Java and JS.

Never have enough VMs and clean Linux comps though.

Gear in the bag I'm loving these days for Windows Sec
    Comodo FW/D+
    Webroot
    Autoruns
    Hitmanpro
    Emsisoft/OA
    Getsusp
Sboxie (although it needs to be faster IMO)
    Comodo Sandbox (part of D+)

I realised my last "security setup" post was a bit inaccurate - I missed out a few things that I didn't consider, because they are almost set and forget:

    ESET Smart Security 5
    WinPatrol Pro - New today!
    LastPass
    Backblaze backup
    SpywareBlaster
    Secunia PSI
    Hitman Pro (on-demand second opinion)
Occasional use of Privacy.IO VPN service
    NAT Router

I uninstalled Trusteer Rapport today after learning of it's severe vulnerabilities.

Going to remove WSA-E for a while because of AV-C false positive results for March. Installing MSE (opposite end of the fp's scale) and Privatefirewall.

Why bother, if you are not experiencing excessive false positives yourself?

If You refering to Malware defender it provides strong protection.A nice feature I like is after you learn your programs on the system you can set it in silent mode, what this does when something tries to execute it will just prompt wilth access violation and block it rather then a prompt to allow or deny.IMO that is a great setting if someone other then your self is using your system or you rather have an automatic decision making.Of course you can change that with just a right click on the tray icon.
