ESS V5,, AV-Test may have their conclusions about detection, but no matter what I do, mine paint a completely different picture of Eset and protection.

Avira would be the only thing I used, if their HTTP scanner didnt bring web page loading to a crawl.

Avira is about as good as your going to get and its free! After beta testing for them 3 years you get to know the product a wee better.. The only thing a person can say bad about them is those pop ups to purchase but there is a reason for the madness.

Is there any reason to use Prevx instead of Webroot? Is Prevx still being updated? I used to run a Prevx / MBAM combo and it was pretty nice. I tried Webroot a few months back and it reminded me of an unfinished product. Have things changed much the last few months and does Webroot offer the same level of protection Prevx offered in the past?

Well I ditched my real time anti-virus and went back to
    Mamutu and Malwarebytes

    I have Mamutu set on
    Intelligent alert reduction "unchecked"

    Community based alert reduction "checked"

create rule to allow or block by % of community 'unchecked"

    Paranoid mode "checked"

Setup like this Mamutu acts like a auto HIPS

for people who says they don't get any responses from
Mamutu set it up like this and it will give you plenty of response:thumb:

Have been running BD AV plus and outpost firewall pro 7.5.2 for a month or two and I'm not even bored yet. Bitdefender is wonderful av software and it's soooo light ! ! :)

Comodo Firewall is working well as usual. I always tightened up Comodo but not to max just my custom settings. No it is not too chatty for me. MSE is fine for me. I'm using MSE 4 Beta and its not sloppy for me at all especially with a 2nd Gen i5, 16GB and a SSD drive hehe. But even before my super upgrades, MSE hasn't been an issue since 2.x. I'm really just testing the MSE 4, I probably ditch it soon and use Comodo Firewall with Applocker and MBAM.

Still running nothing but light virtualization (instant restore software like Deep Freeze, Returnil and Drive Vaccine - depending on which computer), AE from Faronics and that is it. Has been since 2005.
