    Hi ams963

Rather than try to explain in words by PM, I thought an image is better. Hope you don't mind. I never use the Guard, as I run in on demand only.

Tweaked my Safe-Admin setup a little (Win7 x32 ultimate, behind a router, using windows image backup to 2nd harddrive and Synctoy for data backup to my NAS)

Windows FW two way, manually added programs/services to go outbound

Protection from Medium rights (LUA) to High rights (Admin/System)
    1. UAC - Only allow elevation from safe places of signed programs
    2. GPO - Deny installation of unsigned drivers by User & Deny auto-run plus installation by User from removable drives
    3. ICACLS - Added a Mandatory Medium Level token to Mail and Mediaplayer (using Chromium which is unsigned so will never elevate) and other office software

Medium rights execution protection (User space deny execute)
    1. SRP - Set default to basic user, only allowing from Root (Windir) and Programs Files to run unrestricted, added extra deny execute rules for USB drives (2x), allowed TEMP dir to run unrestricted (Temp is often used by installation software to unpack code)
    2. ACL - Set a deny execute for Everyone on data and image backup drive
plus Chrome download - temp folders
    3. 1806 - Changing zone/3 (internet) 1806 (downloaded executables protection) from 1 to 3. I have to manually unblock executables downloaded by mail or browser (this to close the TEMP - hole :D ),

Medium rights hardening of vulnarable registry entries and threat gates
    1. ACL - (regedit) changed permission of users to prevent adding/changing HKCU registry key entries listed by Autoruns (so added a fake key for all empty entries)
    2. EMET 2.1 (office, media player, browser, mail and foxit pdf reader)
    3. Lot's of GPO hardening

Low rights containment from medium rights world
    - Using Chrome (Low Rights sandbox) with
    - Norton DNS, starting page.com and ghostery (tracking protection),
    - Bitdefender traffic light (search and tracking OFF) and Googles safe browsing (phising & download reputation protection)

    On demand (free cloud checks)
    - HitmanPro,
    - Norton Power Eraser,
    - McFee Get Suspicious
