Yes long ago and recently, still not crazy about ZA.

    What haven't I tried.

Just installed Kerio 2.15 again (been a long time) so far so good.

I know how you feel. Distro-hopping is always good as you get to know the whole Linux environment and jargon.
After a while either you run out of CD's/DVD's or you just get tired of dowloading and burning hundreds of megabytes on a daily basis. Once you've found THE distro and you settle down with it, the true learning begins, it's a never-ending learning curve...

I guess you've tried Linux Mint? That's been my favorite so far.

Mint is definitely a very accessible distro.

Ah, yep. That particular switch for chrome is outdated, but I have it there anyway. Placebo effect ;)

Cheers for the heads up on plugin-container.exe, now implemented. :)

To those vouching Kaspersky PURE, I can concur that it is the best complete commercial internet security suite available. The extra tools are great! I haven't found an equivelant to the vulnerability scan. However, my trial was running out, I wasn't loving the firewall and I felt for me, having a seperate program for each security feature a better choice as where if one was compromised, attackers would have to get through the second layer to make an impact. Just a personal choice I guess.

I have recently tried ZA, but it does not allow me to shutdown, restart, log off, sleep, etc

    It's still installed.
I haven't given up on it.
I go back and forth between blaming the software and then the hardware.
1GB ram ain't much to write home about, but like I said, with XP FW it runs pretty fast.
I'll see how LoneWolf's Kerio experience turns out.
And atomomega's Sygate recommendation is noted.
    :)

if you like minimalistic you'll love Bodhi Linux.

it only comes with 1 browser and a text editor, plus a terminal.
and another app which i forgot.
but it's very easy to install apps from their web page.

and it has the best looking interface of all the distros i've tried.
    truly beautiful! :thumb:

Re-added Norton AntiVirus. When the license runs out in just under a year, I may switch to avast! or renew.

How are you liking Zorin? I just loaded it into VMware, looked into some of the system basics, updated files, got Chrome up and running. No problems so far, it seems well designed.

IDK if moving from max to light etc would change performance. I would think that that only changes the multiplier for calculating the scores but I could be wrong.

Dumped SpywareBlaster 4.4 and added Comodo Cleaning Essentials as an on demand scanner.

I like it alot. Its very windows-esque. I almost forgot that I wasn't in windows. It also has a lot of flash and sparkle. You can also access all your windows files. It comes loaded with a lot programs. So far I love it. It ran very fast on Live CD. I'm assuming it would be faster loaded on HD.
