You are also perfectly right, I read about the problem you had with your bank, I can understand how traumatic it must be to know somebody has violated your privacy. I don't use online banking anymore (stopped 5 years ago) and now if I have to use my credit card it will be with Lucid Puppy.

well, it wasn't really traumatic, as the bank refunded the money.
it's just a matter of time wasted to get back on track.

and like i said, there's no telling where the breakdown occured, it could have been online, or the real world. who knows...

in retrospect, i could have been more prudent when it comes to plastic money, both in the real and virtual world.
i think it was good learning opportunity.

things i should have done that are easy:
    - use Paypal instead of leaving my credit card numbers everywhere every time i do an online purchase.
    - be more mindful of where and how often i use plastic money in the real world.
    - set email alerts for debit and credit transactions.

just simple things i think that go a long way. :)

So its more of a Firewall?

I'm running a trial of OA firewall at the moment. Looking at Geswall and now you've added something else to peek at! :D

Yeah I had issues with UAC and geswall. Not too keen on the lack of development. Who knows what could happen with routine patching of holes.

As you can see from the sig, keeping things really simple. Combined with safe surfing, I feel perfectly fine with it.
