I want to configure a security setup for my second pc, what would you suggest to add here. I thought of running

    EMET
    Sandboxie
Router with OpenDNS or Norton DNS depending on my security level
    Windows XP Firewall outbound filter
some HIPS application like Malware Defender or similar as the main security app.

what would you suggest as a main security application, don't want a classic antivirus. Just for ondemand...

Sandboxie and Malware Defender will be your main security apps. I would suggest free versions of Hitman Pro and MalwareBytes Anti-Malware as scanners. Hitman Pro is free 30-day trial and after that (if not paid for) it is a free scanner with no removal capability. HMP is an on demand scanner only. MBAM free is a scanner with removal but no upfront protection (paid version has upfront protection). You could also add a free dedicated rootkit scanner like GMER and/or Kaspersky TDSSKiller.

Which Windows XP version do you have? If you got Windows XP Pro, you could try Software Restriction Policies, or you could try Sully's tool (Pretty Good Security), which you'll find a thread in Wilders Security Forums. Sully's tool allows to have Software Restriction Policies in other XP versions than Pro.

    Maybe something you could consider.

I'm running similar security setup and it is great. MD is main security application and IMO the most complete HIPS available right now. You can't go wrong with it if you like HIPS software.

If you use EMET and Sandboxie I'd say you're fine.
