What is your security setup these days?

What's best? Not allowed to give an opinion , as there is too much controversy about that. So now it's against the TOS for this site. The standard answer is to trial what interests you and decide for yourself.

 

Wich tests are you talking about more info please?

 

I'm planing to buy a Sandboxie licence but i don't know wich programs that i need to isolate.

I'm using IE8, and i know he needs to be isolated, but i didn't know i needed isolate other programs.

May you help me in that?

Sandboxie is an excellent buy! I use this:

Broswers, PDF readers, players and communication programs (MSN).

Works very well!

 

Standard thinking with Sandboxie users is to sandbox all internet-facing applications... browser, email client, PDF reader and media player. The options are many, and customization is easy with SBIE. Do what works best for you, but those are the basics. Lots of solid, SBIE-specific advice and instruction is available in the sandboxing & virtualization forum.

 

Like Page42 said, it's typical to sandbox your internet-facing applications since these are your more common attack vectors.

Why is using a version of Sandboxie so old?

 

Probably just a typo. Latest version is 3.58; 4 is close to the number 5 on the keypad.

Reading up on Windows 8 it seems ASLR has been improved and applied to more of the OS.

Since I'm basically only using Microsoft's security that's nice haha

 

I'm doing perfectly fine with only Sandboxie as my 3rd party security app.

Now my habit of changing and breaking things are kicking in.

with Sandboxie I only need to restrict myself

 

That seems a little overkill to me. I used to install DW along with Outpost, but then I got an BSOD. I like them both, pity they can not get along with each other.

 

Defensewall and Sandboxie Pro seems strong enough. Even one of them is enough to stop everything... isn't it? It's so rare to see something bypass them.
