Excellent point, Java is basically the most exploited application by exploit kits (followed by PDF readers). Anyone doubting this just needs to look at the stats page generated by a Blackhole Exploit Kit server:
    http://labs.m86security.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/Statistics.png

Or this one from a Phoenix Exploit Kit server:
    http://labs.m86security.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/panel1.png

It makes one far more vulnerable than they need to be, depending on the rest of the setup.

If someone really needed Java for something, then I'd only install it within a sandbox set up just for that purpose. e.g. Minecraft, Gaikai, etc.

Some day I'll have to look into how secure alternative Java implementations are.

I also will not allow Java to touch my setup. It's even further up on my loathe list than .NET Framework. Both are bloatware, but at least .NET Framework isn't riddled with vulnerabilities as well (just a few). Nothing on my setup requires the use of either one, and if something did I'd find another product that didn't to accomplish that task instead.

I don't see myself changing my setup a bit until I upgrade my OS. I've never been happier with it. And even then, the only change would probably be using Windows FW instead of Comodo. And possibly the built in restore instead of ShadowProtect, as I hear it works good.

The only change I've been considering is buying Keyscrambler Premium, but I see it much in the same light as my AV, as something I'll probably never need. I've shied away from the "layers just in case" method in favor of things that have every day, practical use. I'm not going to hold myself hostage wasting resources all the time over that rare chance of being infected. I think an imaging/restore solution is the way to go because it's not using resources real-time, only when called upon. And I may never even need it either. I hope not.

After a short trial of SRWare Iron, and doing some reading about it, have returned to Chrome.

    LoneWolf,

    Excellent Setup (always is excellent).

I would like to know why you took the KeyScrambler?

    Sorry for asking,

    Best Regards.

I just feel that KeyScrambler is not needed with DefenseWall.

Some posts above I wrote negatively about DefenseWall:
Recently the developer of DW helped me. We tried a series of driver tests on my comp and Ilya found that all my problems were in a HP printer driver - it overloads my os when some office files are opened. When I removed the driver all started work fine with DW.

Thank you to the developer of the DefenseWall - an experienced guy.
