i think i'm gonna remove Norton DNS.

it hasn't detected anything in well over 2 months.
what happened to all that malware anyway?

i think i'm just about to surf Warez sites for 2-3 days to see if i can get some...

Thanks, yours too. I saw you said you were going back to Avira Premium, but see Panda in your sig. Did you just not change your sig, or did you switch back again?

What is your evaluation of Avira Premium? And of Panda? Not asking for an "a" vs. "b" comparison here. Just a cliff notes rundown on the merits of each.

I'm sure I'll be spending the next few days researching and experimenting with Sandboxie. I've got some threads in here favorited. I'd be grateful for any input.

I used avira for a long time..but got discouraged because of fp's which never got resolved.. forgot I had a license for avira premium which doesnt expire till 2012 but after installing it on my new HP laptop I got fp's from avira. I had the same problem with them identifying C:\hp\bin\EndProcess.exe as trojan..even adding the file to exception doesnt help.. I even submitted that to avira couple of times but with no reply..So I just switched back to panda cloud because it runs light and lets me work on sql server environment without any slowdown....
Tell me something how u liking ivpn because I am really interested to give it a spin...:)

Haven't had those problems (Knock on wood) but maybe that's because I have always used Dell's.

Avira has a thing for HP files but they took care of it after a day
or two. That was my experience when I used Avira. Only one file
I had to make an exception and that worked fine.

I'm liking it a whole lot. I've been mostly using the multi-hop UK to NL servers and noticing hardly any slowdown at all. When using single-hop I notice none whatsoever compared to my normal speeds. Of course I have a 1.5 mbps connection, so there isn't much to slow down in the first place. Maybe people with faster connections will notice slowdowns?

Customer support is excellent. All but 1 time they responded within 24 hours, and that once within 48 hours. And they seem genuine. Client is stable and very easy to set up.

The only disappointment was lacking an anonymous way to pay. They didn't accept a Visa Gift Card I had, and PayOffline is only available to UK residents. But then I guess considering your internet connection is in their hands, if they really wanted to, they could get your identity easily anyway.

I'd say shoot them $20 for the 1 month "no plan" and see how it works for you.

Norton is pretty good. Running links through MDL, it finds a good amount. Of course when I run links through malc0de it finds maybe 1/4. It seems to me that maybe they (norton) are watching MDL and blacklisting them.

Yeah they are looking pretty good. They just need to keep brady in and ditch that second string QB.

I just switched from OA Premium to Private firewall.
    What a lightweight app :thumb:!
Hmm alerts aren't clear compared to Online Armor, but for a man who has only 1GB RAM and Pentium M processor, PW is still good :)
