Its not fancy and nor good. Its terrible right now IMO, but they are working on improving it though. Its suppose to update itself based on trusted and untrusted files plus a list OA team maintains. Don't get me wrong, OA is still a great product, I just don't like OASIS right now :D

Not quite, I would say DefenseWall is more automatic and foolproof per say. I would use DefenseWall if I could.

Think I found my new favorite set up. PCAV Free + Spyshelter Premium. Runs very light and I feel very secure.

Currently I'm running the following setup:

Sandboxie, Online Armor, MBAM Pro, WinPatrol (Free)

(Norton DNS, Adblock Plus (Malware Domains), NoScript)

(I like WinPatrol, though not essential, for its convenient monitoring as well as alerts it provides...autostarts, hosts, etc.)

XP Pro, LUA + SRP, netgear router, closed open ports and disabled exceptions in the firewall, chrome or firefox with adblock and web of trust add-ons, secunia psi to keep apps up to date, DEP for all programs enabled, scan downloads on virustotal.com or jotti.com, occassionally scan the system with mbam or hitman pro or Avast (disabled completely and doesn't run on startup, I enable the service then update and scan if I feel like my system needs a scan). Light, easy and effective.

I've only installed Avast Network and Web Shield (nothing else), and made proper exclusions (especially take note of C:\Windows\Temp\_avast_).

Avast scan network traffic, Panda scans hard drive activity. No issues so far.

I'm not entirely sure, but I believe avast! also creates one more _avast_ folder in %localappdata%\Temp\ (Windows 7, at least), for each user account. I vaguely remember from testing it months ago.

Well, it doesn't seem important, because no scanned files seem to appear there.

I have not changed my computer security setup in a while but that has changed

    Old Setup:

    Panda Cloud Antivirus
    MBAM Pro On-Demand
    ClearCloud DNS
    BitDefender SafeGO

    New Setup:

    Panda Cloud Antivirus
    Windows Defender (Advance SpyNet)
    MBAM PRO (On Demand)
    BitDefender SafeGO

My other two machines are still the

Panda Cloud and CounterSpy Combo but when I get some extra time I need to update them to the latest Panda and put Windows Defender on each of them. I am also thinking Rising PC Doctor would be good on each of them. Other then that everything is still running smooth.

Ibrad do you think the protection offered by windows defender depends on what kinda membership you have with them? Just curious:doubt:

Yes how you set it up as a big difference. On the Vista and 7 version make sure you have it setup with all advance settings on. In Windows XP (last time I saw a screen shot of it) you need to make sure WD is monitoring Driver Installs and all that other stuff.

There is barely any difference on Windows 7 though, which doesn't have any sort of HIPS.
