I was more specific, I referred to the link, where the problem was explained and with all your remarks. This thread is about security setups and changes. If you found other bugs, I will certainly not use it anymore.
I found at least the bug, nobody else did during more than 7 years. That is weird and raises the question : "Are newbies better than experts ?" ;)

Yeah, i re-read that. Really is a shame because it seems like such a light-weighted issue that could be easily resolved, furthermore, i can't believe more users haven't knocked on the door of it's developer for a potential update and bug fixes long, long ago, but then again, it is REALLY OLD anyway.

    More On Topic:

Finally Added This! I forgot to uninstall Power Shadow when installing this but no matter, now i have 2 choices. No conflicts of interest, it's either one or the other. With Retunil you have the virtue of a virtual drive to stow away downloads or move local programs to.

I agreed with hiTech_B on his observation of this folder!

Just NEED to follow the golden rules in Safe-Surfin + a couple of critical security apps would more than make up the "hardening" of a rig. So, here is mine~

    On my private rigs (3clients + 2mobiles) -
    Real-Time: VBA32; SuperAS (mobiles)
    on-Demand: clamAV + spyBotS&D (mobiles)
    -------------
    Real-Time: VBA32; Nod32; CSAV (clients)
    On-demand: clamAV + Norman_MC (clients)

At work, the operation was logistically related...
At work (corp data 24/7 ctr) -
    Real-Time: vba32 (server editions)
    on-Demand: clamAV (premier backup) + spyBotS&D
    -------------
    Distributed Clients (nationwide)
    Real-Time: CSAV
    on-Demand: clamAV + spyBotS&D

Of course, we do use additional sec apps but those are all for monitoring only.

Someone should take an average of all the programs people use and post that.

It would take ages to look through 63 pages of security set ups @.@

Like everyone else, I just want to know what the best of the best is.

Low CPU usage + prevention of spyware

their isnt a best, well at least some think so. The best advice is to read the threads. There really isnt a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, except the one that eventually works well for you.

Well, tests can be run that test the efficiency of spyware programs. I remember seeing results of tests a couple years ago for some of the leading commericial programs that showed which program had the best rate of detection etc.

there are sites, google them. And everyone will give you a different conclusion. My tests say that SAS, AVG-AS, CounterSpy, Trend Micro antispyware,Spy Doctor and Spy Sweeper will rank the highest at all of them.

And then their are AVs that are just as good.

After trial n error I have removed a few programs and added some.
Now there is no conflicts,no system burp's/hiccups,no unexpected reboots,no explorer crashes,no system hangs and pc is quite fast. :thumb:
Now if I can just stay with this setup for a while so I don't screw up a nice stable system. :D

My security setup, amazingly, hasn't changed much in the past months.

    Blink Personal

    and I've recently added

    SnoopFree

that's it. I've finally learned not to mess with what seems to be working.
