What is your security setup these days?

Nice man, i was thinking about tryin Ubuntu, but i'm pretty clueless about how to tweak it

Actually i've installed Ubuntu like 2 times on a real systems and a dozen times on VM.
And every time i wanted to do some sort of complex things (Installing software on my own instead of downloading them from the list and other things) it involved typing loads of commands unknown for me

And i "barely" know how to use CMD

 

Ubuntu is probably one of the best distro's for linux. Mint is also a good one. Ubuntu is really good if you do a dual boot. That way you don't have to deal with CD's or USB drives. Its also very quick to boot, unlike windows. Ubuntu is very user friendly and comes with a lot of preloaded drivers.

 

I've had good luck with Ubuntu and Mint. Also look into Puppy Linux live boot disk.

 

Oh yeah forgot about that one. Thats a good one too. Distrowatch.com is a good place to find some popular distro's. Has a lot of info as well.

 

Yeah but for everyday usage on my needs (I like to try software etc.) it gets really complex
And with my peanut sized brain i . . . i . . . just cant

 

I suggest you start with Linux Mint 10 "Julia" (GNOME)... its so easy to use. Noob-friendly
I'm just trying out Ubuntu again but I think of going back to Mint -_-'

Which one is more bloated, Mint or Ubuntu?

You may be thinking of a litter box instead of a sandbox. From Wikipedia:

"A sandbox is a testing environment that isolates untested code changes and outright experimentation from the production environment or repository, in the context of software development including Web development and revision control. Hey I noticed you were using bufferzone and Comodo firewall. Did you notice any slow down with those two running together? I mean in reference when you had sandboxie.

 

I run three - EAM, MBAM Pro & ClearCloud and they have been bypassed, DefenseWall contained the kitty s--- and saved my a--.

 

I totally agree. If DW was made for 64 bit it would be on all my computers and I would have no need for this place. I love it and miss it. Keeping fingers crossed.
