I had a 30gb partition backed up with Windows Backup and it took about a hour to restore the image. I used Acronis True Image and it took about 25 minutes to restore the image.

Changed quite a bit after experiencing hangs and constant 30-40% CPU usage by NAV 2011 on malware detection on download and failure to clean (99% sure due to incompatibility with Sandboxied Chrome). For the first time in months I decided to take off Sandboxie to try the new Geswall version. So far I love Geswall, alas I can't fford to buy the pro version.
P.S. Any experiences with the Sandbox in the new Avast version? Is it a worthy contender?

I've not tried Chrome and the sandbox in Avast for a few weeks but when I did try it there was a problem running flash.

Yes, I read about it as well. I hope it will get better so that I can use it instead of a 3rd party Sandboxing software.

By the way - anyone using or have used Norton AV 2011 with Geswall? Are there any conflicts?

Good Morning !Kernelwars I'm hesitant in using Beta apps...due to past experiences. From a security standpoint I'm using the Avast virtualization on all my browsers. Otherwise Firefox is excellent. Sincerely...Securon

Do you feel safe regarding exploits and rougues with Avast virtualization? I know it's still not a match for sandboxie but still is it reliable enough? I'd love to use it but I'm still hesitant, having read about its glitches and bugs, also about it being breached.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I'll keep it in mind and will probably try it myself at last. Right now, after an initial BSOD, Avast works OK with Geswall 2.9.1 free.

    Hi Jmonge,
You made an excellent roundup in your post and I would say that I am mostly on same boat... Only, I did not try Spyshelter and I found AppGuard very annoying to use on 7x64 (popups galore). I use SAS Pro, MBAM free and Hitman Pro on demand. And yes for DWall and PE Guard would be so nice if they could be ported to 64-bit. Never tried Geswall, but I will use Sandboxie with confidence once i finish to configure it to my liking (same with Look'n'Stop fw).
Another one that I use and like very much on 64 is Shadow Defender and I would be curious to know if you ever had a chance to try this one.
