zemana has a good system protection and it will block unsig drivers in real time
spyshelter has a good registry protection and you can restrict your applications that uses the net to block stuff:)

When I downloaded Zemana it didn't work on x64 systems.

I'm glad it now works on x64. :)

Yea Zemana protects well for 32-bit systems, but not really up to snuff on 64-bit systems. SpyShelter would be better there.

Been a while since I posted. Changed my setup a bit. My license for ESET Smart Security is coming to and end soon and I have been looking for free alternative. There are so many free apps out there, it seems silly to pay, even if ESS is a good product.

Switched out ESS and put in Comodo Internet Security. So far, working very well. I put CIS through some testing last night and it held up no problems.

Also took advantage of the holiday special pricing for Rollback RX and bought a license. I had an issue with some software that I had installed and then uninstalled, but my system was still messed up. Since I use Macrium Reflect, I thought, no problem, I'll just restore the image I had created. It took 8 freakin' hours to restore the image. No more of that with Rollback RX. Already tested it out and it took about a minute to restore a snapshot. Yeah, that's right, one minute.

The only minus I can see from Rollback RX is if the HD fails. Then a guy is screwed because the "snapshots" are stored on the same drive. Then I guess though, a guy could simply put in a new drive and start from scratch anyway.

Yep they added support for x64 a few versions back but the protection is limited.

You know what they say... it's not if, it's when. Do yourself a favor and store your images on another HD.

if so, all efforts are useless, since a convenient backdoor would expose all your data with no alerts from any security sofware :D

Rollback RX doesn't work like that though.

I think I will still use Macrium Reflect and do a sector by sector copy to an external HD for an "image" backup.

And in over 20 years of using comps, never had an HD fail yet...;)

I've had two Seagates bite the dust, and one WD (I think it was) that came in a new computer was bad from the factory. Other than that, none have ever failed for me either. ;)

I wish I had your luck. A WD and a Fujitsu have failed on me.

Haha. Smart man. And double-check your rescue media. In preparation for a cloning op, I discovered that my boot disk no longer functioned properly, and had to burn a new one. There's no time like the present to make sure that these systems are all in place. :)

Yea, I just used it like a week ago so it is working. Hopefully I won't have to use it again anytime soon.

I am thinking I am going to test BufferZone, it depends on how well it is to install programs out of BufferZone so my family can use it.
