Im thinking about ditching Panda CAV and running an on demand AV only. Something like Avast. Sandboxing the browser and internet facing applications with Sandboxie and running Sandboxie and Spyshelter real time with Avast and MBAM as on demand only.

    Successful conversion. Very light.

Anyone have any input on settings for a hardened configuration within Sandboxie for running suspect programs?

Take a look at the settings under Restrictions.

I think it means real time, as OD means on demand

jmonge, that is your best setup yet. Prevx and SD are great, I just disable SO and no issues.

Hitman Pro and Sandboxie is even better with no impact to your system. I just put my browser and email program in Sandbox.

Of course Avast and its sandbox suit me well to.

Why do that? Just run your regular browsing with browser 1 (e.g. Opera, Firefox, Chrome) inside Sandboxie, and run all your secure banking sessions with browser 2 (e.g. IE) outside of Sandboxie, protected by SOL. The best of both worlds.

If you are using Sandboxie for browsing and email, it's a good idea to check the box 'Automatically delete contents of sandbox' under 'Sandbox settings/Delete/Delete Invocation'.

This isn't the best thread to ask such questions, it is too large and is too active. I have replied in your other SBIE thread here

So much for Online Armor Premium. I took it off and got back Sandboxie - much safer than Run safer. The only shortcoming is when Google Chrome runs sandboxed it eats more RAM than when run safer with OA. But no big deal. Again for firewall the WIN7 one. I really begin to (or try to) convince myself that no 3rd party firewall is needed when running a clean machine.

Took a few days to figure them out, but now have VirtualBox, Ubuntu and Firefox with add-ons running smoothly together in Windows 7 x64. Using the terminal to set up a read-only shared folder with Windows was the trickiest, having no experience with command line.
