OK the devil made me do it but the special Wilders discount was to good to ignore. I have gone over to Avast along with everything else in my signature. The red umbrella is stashed away in the closet...

Well I've read so many posts here and in the Prevx forum about how things are gonna go down and ugly for them but where is the logic for Webroot to destroy the reputation of a product that's unique and working very well, also being sold well and profit gained. Why should they do that? After all in the business world profit (with the good and bad implications) is everything, isn't it?

Because it has happened to countless software before, when corporations have absorbed a product then either made it bloated and unlike the original version that existed or stop developing it all together.

I agree but most of the bought ones were either free - which means no profit for the buyer, or such with difficulties in development or an almost stopped development. And Prevx is neither (I mean the paid version).

Why anticipate a new version of Prevx when the current build works flawlessly? They're putting as much time as possible into Prevx 4 instead.

Today, AVAST free, ZA free and Sandboxie.

I haven't used ZoneAlarm in years and was curious what the security toolbar had to offer.

AVAST is a given. I try other AV's but always come back to AVAST.

And, Sandboxie. If anything gets through AVAST or ZA, I'm fairly sure Sandboxie will contain it.

Next week or next month - who knows what I'll be running.

    Same ole same ole.

Nothing can distort or interfere in any way anymore on this end. Theres not a virus or malware worthy of consideration except to play with and pick apart.

The funny part and easiest part is that they can't even penetrate what's now considered old hat security apps, like EQS, ThreatFire, ProcessGuard, and ESET Security/Avira AV's all used in combo with script trap and trust-no-exe. As well as old Power ShadowMaster.

This whole malware vs. pc machine competition is for all purposes more or less grounded to a final halt. But it's still fun to see and occasional use the newest security developed apps from time to time.

I said it before and i'll say it again, untill they find some way to hijack the very electrical current that leads into our machines, their efforts are in vain against Microsoft PC machines.

The security efforts from security developers have smoked a trail to plug up that nonsense and looks like this time they've done it for good.

    WALLAH!!! Enjoy!

In real time using only the Norton Internet Security 2011 (Heuristics in Sonar and Maximum) and Mamutu (Default settings).

For verification using Hitman Pro (scan daily) and Emsisoft Emergency Kit (weekly scan).

Using UAC, EMET (Maximum), DEP (For all programs), SEHOP, and some configurations of Safe-admim.

    Just like that! :thumb:
