I knew you would go back to just Hitman Pro :D You got rid of SafeReturner too? Its only on demand why remove it?

Okay, I'm doing it, going AV-free.

    Removed NOD32.

And that is foolish. OA is not high n my lists of protection. Eset is alot better protection and removing it is not wise by me.

you'll do just fine without a real-time AV.
haven't used one of those for months.
can't say i miss the bloody: "your virus database has been updated" 3 or 4 times a day. ;)

when people ask me for recommendations about security i recommend them Avast Free, or MSE if they actually paid for their copy of Windows. ;)

when i try to explain to them about light virtualization and policy restrictions and sandboxing i get blank stares. :D

Could be you are right, time will tell. Sandboxie is pretty powerful stuff you know. OA will keep malware from connecting out. Scheduled scans (and Tiny Watcher, hopefully) will tell me if there were holes in my protection, and I'll just reload the system image. My feeling is that real-time AV's days are numbered, I am just trying to get ahead of the curve.;)

that's a pretty solid setup you have there.
if OA popups don't drive you mad you should be fine. ;)
but AFAIC, with a well configured Sandboxie and a knowledgeable person using it, OA should not even be necessary.

the important thing is that people feel comfortable using whatever setup they are using.
i think that's more important than whatever apps one is using.
and of course common sense goes a long way...

there's also something to be said about having a clean image to restore from should "push come to shove".
it takes a lot of the stress away knowing you can be "back in business" the time it takes to make a cup of coffee! :)

    a lot more.

the only thing it does is ask you if a given app wants to connect out to the internet. it can remember your answer so it doesn't bother you again.
there is a pro version with more stuff, which is way over my head anyway.

there's only one reason for me using it, which i don't really want to get into here ;), otherwise i would just use Windows 7 Firewall, without the "Control".

    Realtime:

    PE Guard
Comodo Firewall + Sandbox (Needed something against ARP poisoning)

    On Demand:

    AVZ
    Hitman Pro

    Extra:

    A few security tweaks

edit: Still looking for some proper anti-executable that hooks NtCreateProcessEx; NtCreateProcess; ZwCreateProcess; ZwCreateProcessEx; NtCreateUserProcess; ZwCreateUserProcess...... bla bla bla...
If you guys know of one, please let me know. :)

    removed:
    -Keyscrambler Pro
    - ClearCloud DNS

    re-installed:
    S10 Password Vault

if Shadow Defender is as good as i think it is then there is no need for those 2.

try not to put to many security programs cause sometimes by doing that it will criple the machine even worse than a malware it's self;)
