You don't have to manage policies to use AppLocker effectively.

I run under LUA, use default AppLocker settings and run non-installed and new files with 'Run as administrator' (any files I don't fully trust or want creating/leaving files on the system are run as administrator in Sandboxie).

I have one custom entry (Norton .dll rule).

    Hey Bro..

You can also go with "Software Restriction Policy" .. AppLocker is an advance version of SRP , but still SRP is strong enough to protect you against most of the malicious threats ..

Why you remove Vipre? I heard it was pretty light and protects well? Were you running a trial?

Replaced Immunet Protect with MSE. Added exclusions for MBAM Pro. Running good.

No I have a license to it. Actually I have a license to it. I have removed it
    1. I have not changed my AV for a long time. :p
    2. I was having some problems with the firewall, some uploading stuffs, like virus total uploader, mediafire uploader was not working properly and I am not in a mood of troubleshooting...:(
    3. I intended to try Comodo Cloud. ;)

But I really like Vipre suite, so I will return to it soon...:)

That experiment with ThreatFire and Avira ended badly.

    NOD32 reinstalled.

Unclear on the chain of events, but it was ugly, lots of things stopped working, and ended with the fall-back plan: system image.

Trialing KIS2011. It has one of the ugliest UIs I've ever used. Don't think this will last long.

Thinking of going to Panda Cloud(Pro) with Online Armor.
