Last time I used Spybot which was on Windows XP, Teatimer was very annoying and malware like.

Immunet is pretty light. It works well with Emsisoft Anti-Malware. As far as detection I haven't personally tested it. Scotty is patroling as well hehe.

I was changing to find a setup that was light for me and gave me sufficient protection and I think I have found that setup.

I saw that you are using Windows 7 Ultimate, then why don't you go for AppLocker Policy. It will protect u from 99.9% of malware without having any third party software? And if you still want to use any third party anti-malware then u can choose it according to your flavor ...

I could but applocker isn't a solution I think would fit my situation. I think it would cause more issues than help. Also I don't like relying on anything solely built into Windows OS.

Well I wasn't talking about it being an issue with my setup, my problem is that I just don't want to be bother configuring a policy. To me my current setup is fine.

Indeed. Don't get me wrong I appreciate the suggestion. :) Having dealt with policies before its a pain in the butt and timing consuming in my eyes.

Cool thread. Here's my security setup.

Internet comes into a router firewall set to highest protection and blocks all incoming unwarranted connections leaving the computer completely stealthed before any software firewall comes into play. Then I dual boot between Ubuntu 10.10 and Windows 7 64bit. I only use the Windows OS for music production and graphic design and it is protected by Avast Internet Security Suite just in case. I rarely go onto the Internet with this OS, but when I do I use Chrome that is always sandboxed by Avast. This OS has no cracked software or anything of dubious origins as it is vital to music production to have the system always running at 100%.

I do most of my Internet browsing, email and day to day stuff in Ubuntu. Ubuntu has the Avast AV installed for on demand use and the Firestarter Gui for the Linux firewall. Other than that, that is all the protection I think I need for my safe internet browsing habits. I also run VirtualBox with Windows XP as a virtual machine for uTorrent and downloading from Usenet, as well as any non-safe browsing. If I want to test any dubious software I do it here and take snapshots of the VM beforehand just in case I need to easily rollback. This VM is protected by Comodo Internet Security, and scanned on demand by MBAM and HMP.

Considering I have safe browsing habits and rarely visit shady websites, and very rarely try out cracked software, I think my setup is overkill but it's better to be safe than sorry with today's Internet and various viruses running wild.

Edit: I also use Paragon's free imaging software to do periodic backups of both OSes.

At last changed my security setup a bit. Replaced Vipre with Comodo IS 5 Premium. Open DNS with ClearCloud. Enabled Windows Defender.
Added AVERT and ArcaVir MicroScan in my On-Demand scanner.

For the rest see my signature.

AppLocker is really interesting, I'm not using it because I have only one license of Windows Home Premium, as the AvinashR told me a while ago: "If can not run, can not infect".
