    @Iori
I'd ditch TF for sure which is no longer developed and you already have Prevx. Run FF "sandboxied" w/ABP and WOT . Set your router on ClearCloud DNS. leave UAC on. turn off WD and WF. stick to ESS. No extra cost whatsoever... As for WinPatrol I personally consider worth running only the Plus version, if you don't plan buying a license then ditch the freebie. :thumb:

have you tried "Restart as Non-Isolated" by clicking the little "G" icon at the top?

    WAY too much stuff, IMO.
you could easily get rid of 2-3 apps in there.

    Thanks for the suggestion.
I didn't know TF is no longer developed. And I thought Prevx Free does a different protection than TF? TF = behavioral protection, Prevx Free = Realtime Infection Monitoring and SafeOnline? How does having Prevx Free makes TF unneeded anymore? o_O
I am not too sure of using ClearCloud DNS because I'm worried of the DNS location (I used a similar service before and it slowed down my browsing) and I connect my notebook to my work network and my university network, so can not do router setting.
As for why I use AntiVir PE instead of ESS for my notebook... I only have 1 license for ESS, which I use for my Work PC.
Also, are you suggesting that both BetterPrivacy and NoScript is useless if I use it with Sandboxie?

    1) Haven't. But even if I tried, won't it just run as not isolated by GesWall? Wouldn't it defeat the purpose of GesWall?
    2) Thanks for the input, which apps do you suggest I get rid of?

sometimes you have to run the app isolated once, so some changes can take place.

    for example, i use Chrome.
if i want to get updates for Chrome, i have to run it Non-Isolated, then just start it as usual with Geswall protection.

try it with Firefox to see if your problems go away.
if they don't, i suspect you're running too many security apps and your computer doesn't like it. ;)

    with your setup?
i'd get rid of Prevx and Threathfire for sure.

and use either Sandboxie or Geswall, there's no need for both.

Nice to finally hear something good about BD. I can get a two year license for 3 computers for $29.00 Canadian. I wonder if it isn't just fashionable to criticize it right now?

Not really. Avira free lacks behavioral based protection, but you have the Defense+ component of Comodo.

Removed GesWall and Opera from my setup. They're too heavy says my cousin.
Replaced Opera with Chromium 8 (latest).
I still want to add a complementing software for the loss of GesWall.

Could anyone point me to some test results and reviews of SpyShelter free version as compared to other similar programs? I am more interested in the HIPS features but would also be interested in the anti-keylogging features. Right now I have Prevx with SafeOnline set to its lowest levels, otherwise SO interferes too greatly in web browsing of chrome and sometime FF. And I'm looking to see whether I should go with Mamutu or something like SpyShelter.

    thanks

How the heck are you using an *.ini file to block ads with Chromium? I don't update Chromium for a few days now... Does it offer that option now?

    oops maybe wrong copy-paste :D
Chromium doesnt have adblock.ini but I placed an adblock.ini file in its main folder just in case and most of the ads are gone!

maybe its Clearcloud DNS that is blocking the ads but... :D

EDIT: after testing it out further, the adblock.ini doesnt work HAHAHA

hunt, why are you using Sandboxie with the Suite. I have found the Avast Sandbox pretty good. I did untic a few boxes to improve on it though.

    trjam,
Thank you and again, I just could not feel ocmfortable using HIPS - maybe one day. I just use SD on demand when out in public places or other times as needed. Thanks again - I cannot remember how I found this forum but thankful that I did.
